As far as fashion goes, I tend to stick with classics and occasionally throw in a trend or two.
As I’ve refined my personal style over the years, I’ve progressed from buying tons of fast-fashion pieces to investing in fewer, higher quality items.
This combination of classic style and fewer, higher quality items makes me a great candidate for seasonal capsule wardrobes. I have been curious about capsule wardrobes for a few years now, wondering if I could be disciplined enough to buy only a couple of the most classic pieces in each clothing category, in a limited number of colors.
I’ve decided that 2022 will be my year to take the plunge.
I am purging my closet of items that do not fit well, do not suit my style, and fall outside of the target neutral palette of a successful capsule. I am keeping the higher quality pieces I already own that will work well for my capsule, and I am sourcing the pieces I need to complete my capsule wardrobes.
Being that we’re still in the throes of winter, I will be creating my Fall/Winter capsule first and have already started pulling together my favorites in each category. I’m looking forward to seeing how my new capsule collections help me live easier and more beautiful. I hope these curated pieces help inspire your next capsule collection too.
