ELEMENTS I LOVE
I AM PASSIONATE about interior design and beautiful living, and am forever scrolling Pinterest, Instagram and design blogs. I seem to never get enough of the beautiful images of living spaces, home decor, and objects. As you may know, I am currently renovating my home and I have so many ideas about how I will decorate once we are moved in. There are so many elements of design and decor that I am loving right now, so I wanted to share some of them with you today!
VIGNETTES
What I love about a vignette is that anyone can do it successfully in any style house, on any budget. You simply take a corner or a nook or even simply a wall, and you make it a moment.
DARK WALLS
I don’t consider myself a moody person, and I am generally drawn to light, bright spaces. I go for walks and see houses with the shades or curtains drawn during the day, and I’m incredulous. Give me ALL. THE. LIGHT.
However. I absolutely love a dark and moody space. When done right, I am filled with a yearning for candle and fire light, soft music, and a warm blanket. Give me a glass of red wine or a mug of tea, a great book, and some good conversation. Give me a cold rainy day, a game of Scrabble, and fuzzy slippers.
It’s a mood and I am here for it every time.
CAFE CURTAINS
In my opinion, the cafe curtain is a seriously underused and under-appreciated window treatment.
What provides privacy but still lets in a ton of light? Cafe curtains. What looks amazing whether a formal pinch pleat or a casual tie-top? Cafe curtains. What’s the most affordable and easy to install of all window treatments? Cafe curtains.
Take a look at these photos and change my mind. I’ll wait.
BREAKFAST NOOKS
When you think about all the time you spend eating (or preparing to eat), it only makes sense to do it in an inspired little nook. These sweet little spots are also perfect for morning coffee, working on your laptop, or having a glass of wine (or two).
HERRINGBONE
I love a good classic pattern and herringbone is about as classic as it gets. This pattern looks stunning in wood tones, timeless with old brick, and is a showstopper when paired with Zellige tile.
